Put it to the Test: Maybelline Blur+ Illuminating Primer

Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime Blur+ Illuminate Primer

Primers. To ensure your makeup has a smooth and flawless canvas to be applied. So it blurs any imperfections like pores that may hinder the appearance of a flawless makeup base. This primer is no different but only that is provides a hydrating element to give a radiant appearance to the face. Therefore, ensuring the face has a ‘dewy’ look and that the foundation doesn’t cling on to any dry spots.

Since I do have oily skin this product I only apply towards the outer perimeter of my face. I try to keep this away from my T-zone. Also, this isn’t a product you want to mix with foundation because it will start to ball up when blending. I suggest you apply the primer first, wait a minute and then apply your foundation.

Even though I have oily skin I have been using this product non-stop since I purchased it. I have made a big dent already to it.

Application: Consistency: Duration: Scent

Application: I apply a decent amount to the back of my hand and then dot it to the face. I blend with my fingers. This product glides on very smoothly.

Consistency: the product looks thick but it feels like a gel. It’s a pink color and isn’t runny. Hence why it looks thick.

Duration: The longer you wear it on the face doesn’t matter. When you first apply it that is basically how it will appear the whole day: or until you remove your makeup.

Scent: When using this product I can’t smell anything so I would say it has no scent. Or at least a scent that I can pick up.

Overall thoughts…

For someone who is just getting into products for a more dewy look and since this is a more of a water-based formula. Plus I love how this actually has SPF 30, which is perfect to apply under foundation or to wear on its own.

Also, if you don’t necessarily want one that blurs-illuminates at the same time there are actually 2 other primers in this line. They all do something different so finding something that works for you won’t be that hard. Plus the price point of this primer is $9.99 but if you wait for a sale like the ones from Ulta buy 1 get one 50% off is great. Plus Ulta almost always has a $3.50 off when you spend $10 coupon or a 20% off coupon from you purchase.  Always a great deal even at some other drugstores.

Would I repurchase this product again?
Depending how my skin feels and looks once I’m done with the one that I have, that will determine it. As of right now I would say yes because I love how it is looking on face.

Have you tired any of these three primers from this collection? How about this specific primer?

Thank you for reading dolls, until next time
