Blogging Tips: For Beginners

Blogging Tips: For Beginners

Starting a blog is easy but at the same time it can be frustrating, Finding a name, hosting site and other little things that you will need for your blog can be stressful. Here are some tips that I would like to share with newbie bloggers and bloggers in general. Sometimes we get caught up in the numbers and other little things but sometimes we just need to take a step back and relax.

Here are some things to take into consideration when starting your blog and throughout your blogging time.

1.             Don’t follow the crowd
I cannot stress this enough specially to new bloggers. Find your own niche. Be original with content. Sure you can look at other bloggers for inspiration but don’t copy them word for word.

2.             Interact with your audience
If you want people to read and follow your blog. Then you have to make the first move. Participate in twitter chats. This is an easy way to interact with fellow bloggers.

3.             Don’t be mean online
Sometimes there will be people who get on your nerves but don’t make them relevant. Don’t reply just block, mute and repeat.

4.             Don’t worry about the numbers
I know everyone wants their numbers to be great all the time but be happy with your content. I for one do keep a statistic page in my journal but I only look at the numbers at the end of the month.

5.             Don’t Stress
Your content might not be getting enough attention like you would want it to be. You can advertise your content in different ways and throughout different platforms. It takes time to grow.

6.             Social Media
Take advantage of this and make sure all your socials are linked to your blog. Add widgets because it will be easier for readers to find you and follow you.

7.             Be Consistent
Try and have a regular blogging schedule so your readers know when you post.

8.             Schedule Tweets
Scheduling tweets with blog posts or tweets throughout the day will ensure your engagement doesn’t go down. I schedule my blog post to my twitter because I post every early in the day. I will only schedule some tweets maybe 3-4 times throughout the day.

9.             Don’t be afraid to ask for help
I remember when I started blogging and I didn’t know how to link my blog to bloglovin and a fellow blogger help me out. Although she doesn’t blog anymore I really appreciated her help. Keep in mind that not everyone will respond to you but keep trying.

10.           Work on your content
Find the style of writing you enjoy and stick with it. Your blog is your place to be you. Just make sure that once you hit publish that you are happy with what you are putting out.

What tips would you share with new bloggers?

Thank you for reading dolls, until next time

  1. I love what you've got here! Three years on from when I first started blogging, I adore reading these types of posts! My biggest tip would be to remember why you started blogging whenever times get tough, it's always good to reflect back on everything and get some perspective :) Em xx
